Here's a super-sized version of my favorite:

BTW I grew up in that area when it wasn't called Santa Clarita, just Valencia, Newhall, Saugus or Canyon Country or simply "I live near Magic Mountain"  :)

This route will take the better part of a very fun day!

This is one awesome ride. I have done it a few times and I can attest that is is a great one. We should get a ride for this...

you could modify that oceanside route to incorporate de luz road - it's a pretty great stretch. My mom and dad used to race each other on bikes down that road before I was born.

yup, absolutely.  if you look in these
Avocado Mesa #1 - 191 mi about 4 hours 53 mins

Avocado Mesa #2 - 188 mi about 4 hours 30 mins

you'll find De Luz Road.  It's a fun ride, but not what I was looking for that day.  Keep in mind these maps aren't set in stone, I'm sure we could build a freaking amazing loop with all of them, and I encourage people to do so.  I didn't 'discover' any of these roads, I usually find them from other sources and compile them here.  This is more about giving people information about roads that are out there and encouraging some creativity and sense of adventure.

Hey ondaroad, I grew up in Saugus and Valencia too back when Lyons ave. was a two lane road with orange trees, Saugus High was a dairy, and riding your motorcycle up "Chicken Hill" was a community event.

Bouquet Canyon to Lake Elizabeth (Spunky Canyon) and San Fanscisquito is a great ride if your in the area. Found this link from another forum:
