Don's Shadow Bobber Project
« on: 07/02/10 01:32PM »
Plan to pick up a project bike tonight after I get off work.

If anyone is available with a truck/ramp or trailer around 5 to 6pm tonight you will be compensated.  Bike is located in Mission Viejo and just need it moved to Tustin.  I have AAA motorycle towing, but don't want to wait 1.5hr+ for a flat bed truck.

Thanks!

I have a tow hitch on my car if that helps at all...  If you can find a trailer, we're all set.

how come I always miss these deals? I wish OC wasn't full of a bunch of MX bikes on craigslist so I could actually see what deals could be had.

Sick man turn that thing into a chopper.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty well-preserved piece. One should rather skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "WOW, what a ride"!!!

Don-
Lauren and I will be headed that direction for pho and karting anyway. I can just take the truck instead and meet you at the location. I'll get a hold of Lauren to find out times.

Edit: made things clearer

Thanks Aurthur and Lauren!  I will see you guys in a few. :7:

Thanks to everyone else that offered to help as well.   :8:

I'm so excited to start wrenching on it and see if I can't get it running by the end of this weekend.

Priorities:  Battery, pulse generator, fuids changed and a rear tire.

Damn it!   I know I picked up a great deal yesterday, but it's just my luck that I have to find this today.  :20:

Kawasaki KZ1000 Police Bike - $950

Oh well, time to get to work on my new toy.  :3:

Hey Don, the listing is deleted. What did you find and how much?

Hey Don, the listing is deleted. What did you find and how much?

1985 Honda Shadow 500 with 16k miles.  Needs the pulse generator replaced (work in progress), new battery (picking up today) and a new rear tire (ordered this morning).

Picked it up for 450 $1 tacos.

Looks identical to this one.

I will try and get some pics up later today. Picked it up 1) sweet deal for a 100% complete project bike, 2) my first street bike was an '86 Honda Shadow 750 and 3) The overdrive on these bikes is sick!

You can always sell me the Shadow and then you can buy the other bike. Problem solved!

Ahhh!  Very tempting, but I will try a little self control for once and stick with the Shadow.  For now.

That could be sweet too. Not a fan of those bars though. Some drag bars on that would look very nice.
