imo opinion it's too many cops and also it makes the ride quite a bit longer and palomar itself is plenty fun. More time on Palomar and still get home at decent hour. Also, we might be picking up couple of the riders off the 5 by Camp Pendleton. We can see how it goes tomorrow morning.

Does DENNY'S have a few new skillets they're promoting?

Have fun, be safe, and I'll try to hook up next time

Ride was with MelloYello, BMW Mike, Jaybo 98 and myself.
I had breakfast in the morning with MelloYello at Denny's. Forgot my wallet, lol, so he paid for it. I'll have to get him next time. While others were arriving at the gas station, i got my wallet. We went to Palomar, i got pulled over right away for my license plate location and gotta fix it ticket and got a warning for making a u-turn where I shouldn't have. Other than that it was a good ride, kinda hot though, but it was nice on the way through Camp Pendleton and Oceanside. Once we were done, nobody wanted to go to the buffet :( :) and then we took Ortega back. We were going pretty good and near the end of it there was a huge accident where multiple vehicles were involved with possibility of a head on collusion. People must have been hurt pretty bad because they were air lifted. We were advised that traffic would be stopped at least for another hour so we turned around and decided to take the route of 15 to 91 to 55 to 5. 91 sucked. A lot of traffic, but I just hopped on the toll road and took it all the way home.

Few lessons and info learned: (I asked the Officer what we shouldn't do so that we don't get tickets)
Speed limit on Palomar is 55mph. They don't care if we are leaning.
Don't go over double yellow to pass.
Don't make u-turn just anywhere. You need 250ft of clear road ahead, so make your u-turn at the very bottom.
There's a view point where Rick Clemson parks his car after the cattle sign. Cops use this area to look down to see if you are making a u-turn where you are not suppose to.

...and don't let cops deter you from having fun. If you follow the above tips you shouldn't have to worry.

I give props to you BMW Mike. You handle that big bike very well.

It was a pleasure.

Glad to hear everyone made it back safe. CHP was everywhere! I left my house at about 10AM and I think I saw 6 cops on HWY 76 on the way there. I took it nice an easy on the 76, but after I passed that cop at the bottom of south grade I knew it was smooth sailing ahead. What a blast! Here is a pic of me I found on Rick Clemson Photography:
