Info on the track?
« on: 09/10/07 09:01AM »
I have never done a track day.  I am a little nervous about doing one.  I know there are schools out there to learn you how to ride faster, anyone have any links?

What are the rules for riding tracks?  Bike requirements, equipment requirements, and so on.  And what is the situation like on the track.  I am a slow rider, I would like to improve my skills but don't want to feel like I am holding everyone up and becoming a danger because I am so slow.  Will I be slow?  What is the skill level out there? How are the rides set up?  Do you get a set amount of time to race around, and is it divided up by skill level?

Sorry about all the questions, as I said i've never been to the track and just want to be as informed as possible.

This is a keith Code's track school.  It is a a cornering class. I was going to do this first before I did a track day.  So I would learn how to prep the bike, and corner.  Plus you don't have to use your own bike.

they have a one day for about 650.  Which includes a 600cc bike.  I booked mine in June for october, the only slot available, but I have to cancel because of my injuries.

there is also a 2 day course for 2300.00.

check the site out.

Just a thought is there a club or race group that you can sign up to for the year that does track day twice a month or something like that? Maybe someplace that will actually hold races as well as track days? I think that would be so fun!

Here ya go. Willow Springs Motorcycle club or WSMC. They hold track days and races for experience levels. Looks pretty cool.

this one sounds good and a nice way to make my first track appearance..

Let me talk to the group of riders i ride with and see if we can get a small group going.

but october might be to close to organize people
