Looking for some new gauntlet race gloves
« on: 05/10/11 11:30PM »
I am looking for some gauntlet race gloves to go with my suit.

I need to try them on before I buy them

I just checked out these at Motorhelmet and I am very impressed with them, I just want to try them on with my suit next time I go back.

this was all they had for higher end gloves in stock that I was interested in (the other brand they had was cortech)
I have checked out cycle gear and nothing really interested me there

So I am looking for places to check out gloves and some specific glove recommendations. (I will buy locally as long as the prices are not over $20 from online.)

Thanks for the help.

What size do you wear?  I just purchased a pair of Cortech Adrenaline in M and they fit really nice. If that is your size, I'd be willing to let you try them on if you wanted to meet up somewhere.

Junior has a good inventory at Cycle City.  He hooked me up with a pair of Alpinestars SP-1s at a great price a few weeks back.  You might check with him.

Luck,

Those teknics have been in the back of my mind for a few months now, I think you would be happy with those.

Teknic has been one of those good value-for-money brands that gets overlooked a lot, IMO...

Their build quality has increased greatly within the last several years, as I've been a Teknic loyalist for the past 8+

Teknic gloves alone, I have a set of sport-style Lightning, Violator race gauntlet, and the Speedstar race.  The Xcelerator model is their top-of-the-line, surpassing the former top-of-the-line Speedstar stuff.

You can't go wrong..   Just shop around, but know your size!  (I wear large for A-stars gloves, medium for Teknic.)

haha i just asked this question a few days ago too...have since found a pair of a* gp plus' kicking around in my closet -_-

anyways, ive gotten SEVERAL recs for the cortech adrenalines. and i think i still might buy a pair to break in and keep as spares....

a buddy of mine swears by these--will definitely protect in a crash, but if they get destroyed, they're CHEAP to replace...

otherwise, i REALLY like the held phantoms in white:

a friend had them and absolutely loved them, though, no crash feedback. i suspect theyre super durable. a buddy on another forum said he's crashed multiple times and they held up fine.
