My New Toy! 2006 Honda Ruckus Scooter!
« on: 02/24/12 05:44PM »
Just got this a week ago and it's a blast to ride around town! I ride it to work everyday and save on gas. I park it right on the curb too like a bicycle. 45mph 100mpg, you can't go wrong. Most fun you can have on a scooter that actually looks good. If you're thinking about getting one, do it! Just realize you're not going anywhere very fast. It's actually a lot of fun going slow and since you have no clutch or shifting to worry about, you enjoy the ride more.
Let me know what you guys think and if you have any questions just ask!

Sick congrats! I had a 2008 Ruckus and loved it. Hopefully you weigh less than 180lb, Anything over that and its painfully slow. HOWEVER :D power output can be improved. There so much aftermarket parts support for this thing its ridiculous. I loved mine.

Cool little thing, but would have gone with a ch250 Aka the cyclops! Just kidding! Are you gonna stretch it and put a 250 motor in it?

I'm going to keep the motor stock. I did some cosmetic stuff like relocate the front turn signals and horn to make it look better. Also, I removed the ugly fender and replaced it with an r6 tail light with integrated turn signals. The brakes also flash when applied for tailgaters. I might do more but the $$$ adds up when doing mods. We shall see.

Nice! Go for an exhaust for your next mod. It'll sound like a mean lawnmower  :13:

No clutch, no shifting? No fun. Cool scoot though.

with gas prices soaring, I thought it was a great idea to get one. Also, summer weather is right around the corner!

Do you chain it to something when you park it? I'm debating to get one but it seems so easy lift if it's park somewhere

A good chain to the frame is all you need ;)

Two people can load it in their truck or suv in less than 10 seconds. If it's gonna sit for more than an hour you should chain it or have it in view or in a crowded/public place. Don't let that prevent you from buying one though. If someone wants to steal it, they won't let a small chain stop them. It's the same for any vehicle. I don't chain mine but plan on buying one soon. I never leave it unattended for very long anyways.

I have always waned to get a small Scooter/Rucus of some sort.  I have not bought one yet, I just cannot figure out what helmet will look good with it.  I am looking at the Bell 500 they are fun, but I look like a dork and I am not even 6 foot tall.  :)

Gotta love the slower fun, all fun really no danger to sell just the distracted cage drivers...
