Flashtune.com gave me a new bike for $100
« on: 07/18/13 06:31PM »
I met Chris at Flash-tune.com when I blew a rear in LA and the shop he works from (Motorcycle Performance Services which is rad as well) styled me out. I took my bike to him today and about 25 minutes and $100 later I have never been happier. He flashed my CPU and made my bike rip. It gave me more power from around the 10,000 - 13,500  mark which I always felt it lacked. He turned my fans on earlier so feels so much cooler. He turn my engine brakeing down and i swear it feels lighter when im cornering. And i reset my mpg average when i left my house to go get it done and it read 29.8 when i got there and i rode pretty hard. I did the same when leaving and really hit it hard on the way home staying in higher RPM's then i normally do and it read 37.6 when I got home!!! The bike feels so smooth I cant believe it. BEST DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR IVE EVER SPENT ON A BIKE!!!!

Heres his info if your interested and his website says he does all the major bike companies:

Chris Gardell
sales@gsxrtune.com
1338 S La Brea ave 90019
562-314-6284

And if you call him PLEASE tell him you got his info from me so maybe he'll give me a deal when I go back with all the custom maps im gonna want put in :) :42: :42: :42: :42: :42: :42: :42: :42: :42: :42: :42:

Sorry flash-tune.com
I see you have got a taste of what having your ECU flashed can do.  Its night and day difference but I will tell you there is still MORE potential in you bike through you ECU.  There is only so much adjustment that he can make to program you ECU to your bike and also to your particular riding style with that limited amount of time and data.  Don't be sad their is a solution its called the Woolich Racing Log Box.  No at $350 it is not cheap but what it does is simply amazing, it logs all engine data during a ride and stores it for you to look at after you ride so you can tune your motor to perfection.  I have a friend that has a log box who may be willing to help you further tune your bike if you want.  If your interested, PM me and we can try to get this going.  I'm just depressed that they haven't figured out a way to flash the honda's without connecting directly to the Chip.

Nice, the price came down a bit.... I got my 2012 done a couple months ago and paid $150 but definitely worth it and would do it again. :27:

Would a S1000rr be more complicated to get the ecu flashed guys?  :26:

It all depends on the available information on the ECU and wether or not it is locked.  I know on the GSXR's and Yamaha's the door is pretty much wide open you just need to know which pins to connect to.  The hard part is deciphering all the data, thats where the hours of hard tedious work is, then creating a program to aid in making the data something useful and understandable.

I've been preaching this same topic for the past three years.  I had my 2009 R1 flashed and it was a different bike.  Now take it in for a custom map and you'll be much happier.

Look up ECUnleashed on this forum.  It's been discussed numerous times.

Ride safe,

Nice mpg gain, now if only I could find a way for my insurance company to not charge me the price of a new bike each year to fully insure it.

My R1 was re-flashed with ECUnleashed.... Then had a custom map via Dyno @ Lees Cycle.

My 1198 has the race ECU from Termignioni then mapped via Dyno.
