oh you probably know it as johnson Valley or Lucerne Valley.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty well-preserved piece. One should rather skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "WOW, what a ride"!!!

Comp and I are gonna ride the Cleveland National Forest in an hour or two.  Anyone wanna join?

It looks like most trails are closed except for South Main Divide by Ortega so we'll probably go there.  Any other spots we could hit up?

ahh....I am stuck working (and worse - I can see it from work!)

for cleveland national forest:

1.) take ortega and turn RIGHT onto south main divide - drive another 9 miles (takes around 20-25 mins) and you'll hit wildomar - there are trails (and more technical ones)

2.) take ortega and turn LEFT onto main divide towards santiago peak - you can ride all the way to the top - just fire roads

3.) from the 15 side - you can also get access to the top

***EDIT***

I just heard a friend is heading to Ocotillo Wells March 28th/29th; I will likely leave Friday night or just leave super early Saturday.

Bring your own camping sh*t/food.

Just got the WR started and ready to go.  Would love to get in on a ride here, preferably somewhere local so I can test run it first before I make the trek to the desert.

sure i'd go check it out.  Way closer than Gorman or Ocotillo Wells.  When do you usually go, weekdays or weekends?

I work retail, so my schedule varies...

Better question is - what's your schedule like?

With daylight savings time the sun goes down at 7...so we can do a midweek ride after you get out of work

I plan on riding long beach on my weekdays off allllllllll summer...gonna be funnnnnn!

Any photos of the long beach spot?  Forgive my scepticism but wildomar takes all of five minutes to get bored of.  So, I'm curious as to what lb has to offer

To elaborate....

Once you find out straight, flat dirt roads get dull.  You will look for...
Berm turns, jumps, whoops, more jumps, more berm turns, climbs.

You will end up at Beaumont, ocotillo, barstow, eventually the MX track.

I'm working this weekend, but we can roll for an hour after I get off work (6-7pm) - should be enough just to test her out

seriously? you're comparing wildomar, beaumont, barstow, and a motocross track in RURAL areas of desert southern california (that are designated riding areas) to an illegal/tolerated spot in URBAN long beach which you are thinking might bore you? have you been to long beach before? you're better off curing your "boredom" 4 times/year out in the desert or mx track.

@ RDTodd - better mount 'em soon - red sticker riding season ends at the end of April/May! then you're stuck until November...unless you want to brave the boiling desert sun in the summer
