nope...you can only be on that dirt road that comes off live oak with a plated bike

you can't be on that trail on the left - it's mountain bike only

I've never heard that road to the left was mtbk only. I've taken my jeep all the way up it countless times. Even when the gate is closed you could drive a full size bronco up it, the road splits around the gate. And I've seen sherrifs at the bottom watch me come down and just give a wave.

I could see mtbkers claiming it's there's only, but I've never seen a sign.

My bike is plated so no issues there.  And I've seen Jeeps going up there as well.  But I've never seen them as far as I've gone but that could be because the road gets pretty rutted out towards the top.

I've been there twice and the second time I was riding slowly to look for any signs that restricted motor vehicles but did not see any.

I'll have to double check, but I thought being plated only allows you to be on trabuco creek road (the main dirt road off of live oak)...you can ride to the end of it (at holy jim) where it becomes a mountain bike trail the rest of the way to the peak.

I'm working this weekend - I'll check it out after 5:30

Looking forward to it.  I've got a new Sony Action cam, hopefully I'll be able to post some vids of the carnage :29:

There's a road that goes up and left, just after you cross the creekbed on trabuco creek road. I believe it is labeled as holy Jim trail and supposedly reaches the main divide, but it gets to narrow for a jeep after a few miles. It is rutted and gnarly for a jeep, a tire gets in the air in a few spots. And when it's muddy it's slick as snot up there.

Damn, weather not looking great for Thursday  :4:

Thursday 05/14 90% / 0.41 in
Rain showers in the morning will evolve into a more steady rain in the afternoon. High 63F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall around a half an inch.

Hey, the weatherman has been wrong before!  I have to admit that a 90% chance doesn't inspire much confidence.  :20:

Well, we beat the rain, but the moto gods did not go easy on Todd at Milestone today.  Busted his bike before we even got to ride.  Kickstarter/side case failure. :6:

Just glad it didn't happen 15miles in at Silverwood :36: :36: :36: This bike has been nothing but good to me and will be ready to rock next weekend. How was your ride? Track looked perfect!!!!
