Sorry I'm late to the discussion, let me explain...
Four stroke engines combust every other revolution of each piston.

I stopped reading when I saw this since pistons don't experience "revolution"

I've had a piston revolt before... couldn't take the other 3 and shot itself out the engine case.  If only someone had told it life was worth living... oh well.

Buells (the ones I've ridden) are horribly uncomfortable, too loud for too little performance and just plain ugly.
If you are offended by my posts that's your problem

I was thinking it was more of a simple observation...

At least I've test ridden the piles of crap I'm putting down.  :)  I get credit for that right?

A guy from Denver working here for a week rented a Buell Ulysses to see Palomar. He rode it back here and I took it around the plant. Shaky, unsteady, leaked oil all over the back tire, and it was NEW!

Thats the point. Put the rider first. Style second. Reliability third. The trilogy of tech. =/
Remember it gets pushed out of a harley factory. You get what you didn't research as a buyer! Do people not research before purchasing?!? They cant even make an engine worth putting gas and air through. When in doubt, outsource to someone who can!

WOW a lot of shit talking about buells here! A little history on my bike riding. I have owned an R1, a GSX-R 1000, a ZX6R, a Katana 750, a SV1000S, and now a 09 1125R. I do 1/4 & 1/8 mile drag all the time. The best time I have done on 1/4 mi is with my 1125R, 6.23 sec @ 111.4 mph. And again best 1/4 mi time was on my 1125, 9.87 sec @ 131.2 mph! That was when the front final decided to stay on the ground. The handling and ergos suite me much better than any of my other or previous bikes.

The radiators are in the pods or ducts on the front of the bike. The ram air intake is actualy between the forks just under the steering head and begins to fully work at 80 mph. The 1125 has the largest capacity air box of any bike. The handling far surburb to that of most japanese mass produced bikes. Like the italians, buell has limited production numbers so they can take time to build it right. I love my Buell. As for the hard numbers.... According to the dyno, my bike fully stock did 144hp @ 9840 rpm and 89lbs/ft @ 4200 rpm and held that # to 5700 rpm.

Anyway everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but when making said opinion base it on your own riding expirience. If you have not riden own then don't comment about it. If your commenting on the looks.....well that's subjective. I love the looks. Anyway can't we all just get along and have some fun riding our machines. Its not us buellers fualt that most of you japenese bikers can't dare to be different! LOL
I refuse to navigate carefuly through life, only to arrive safely at death!
