Grease on bottom of steering stem????
« on: 10/15/14 09:38AM »
Just noticed some grease on top of the bottom triple clamp. Do bearings leak? I haven't had time to really dig into it. Maybe my SCOTT'S is leaking down the stem? Idk. Just wondering if anyone has had/seen it before.

If the steering feels okay, it's probably fine.  It depends on how much grease was put in at the factory or when the bearing was repacked.  Some grease leakage or travel is normal.  It's not something I'd worry about.

I would pull the damper and check it our just to be sure that it isn't what's leaking.

Ride on,

Its not a sealed bearing setup so its possible you got some leaking out. Check the damper, wipe it down and go ride GMR lol
