So, I installed the fork brace and 15/45 gearing last week.  HUGE improvement in rideability.  I then took it out with a buddy of mine to Apex on Sunday to test the bike.  I'm still slow but we made solid progress for the first time out; we rode from 9-5 and were pretty beat by the end of the day :).  Definitely a blast and looking forward to getting fast :).

A few pics:

Mitas all broken in:

Yes, I was excited that I could finally start hanging off the lil' bike.  Shifting my weight on a 130lbs bike is a bit more challenging for me than a big supersport

We were the only two people left near the end of the day

so rad following your progress!!

I love how $30-$45 of entry gets you A LOT of track time (usually by yourself too!) at Adams...way more bang for yo' buck than roadracing

glad that gearing is working out for you...now just more track time

Thanks man!  $38 all day long at Apex.  You can pretty much ride till you drop :).  Very happy with the day 1 progress; I think I'll be able to shave off significant time on the next day out; need to take a few different lines and I'm getting a little better sliding my butt around LOL.  No big problems with the bike either; runs strong and suspension is solid.  I did get some wheel hop at high speed but re-torquing the spoke nipples may fix that.

It's been a while, so time for another update.  After track day 2, my buddy raved about the Vforce3 reed and spacer and how much smoother and harder the bike pulls.  I'm all for smooth so I ordered and installed it.

New vs. Old

Shiny :)

While I was at it, I also installed a RAM mount to use with an old smart phone as lap timer and some handlebar guards:

With Apex being Karts only for the weekend, we went back to Adams where I could put the new powa to the test; who knew 65cc could give you some unintended power wheelies LOL.

On this third time out, I was starting to get pretty comfortable and quick.  Still lots to learn but I'm definitely getting some good pace.  Thanks to Brian from Socal Supermoto for a few sweet shots too:

It truly is!!  It's challenging, a ton of fun and doesn't break the bank.  People seem cool too!

Ugh the hairpin...could never figure out the fastest way around there!

It's a tricky corner but a lot of fun if you get it right.  Seems like it's best to turn in pretty late to get a nice tight exit; I was able to pass a few people there who run too wide on the exit.  I have more trouble with the 180 after this (right hander).
