How early in the AM I gotta be there to get a fire pit on the beach? 4-5am to be in line to park in beach lot?

And prep tips?

Just bring a big umbrella, camp chair, cooler with ice/drinks, beach towel, bfast/lunch/dinner (sandwiches/chips/hot dogs/burgers/s'mores), cell phone power bank, camping pillow, volley ball, frisbee, fire wood, bicycle and...?

I've  been out there during the 4th and it's beyond packed!

The only way to get around was by bicycle.  Even that it was crowded because EVERYONE else is on their bicycle!

I would stay away if I were you, but I'm old and hate big crowds.

Eek!

I may be better off grabbing a fire pit another day and just BBQ at a friend's house

@Todd or anyone else - how early should I get there for a fire pit mid week?

Yeah I can never understand that.  Why so much effort just to squeeze yourself within 3 feet of other people's spaces, bad language, and loud music for 12 hours?

Well, I made it... wasn't so bad, but definitely helped to expect crowds...thanks for the tips!

To bear the traffic and parking I took a $3.25 bus from LB to HB...I walked down the bike path to my friend who reserved a fire pit at 5am...and I ate a $15 lobster Mac...was so good

At 9:30pm the Uber back was $117 LOL

So I sat with the hot coals and waited u til 11ish and got an Uber home for $19

I BYOB and made it a $24 evening
