Anyone a locksmith?
« on: 07/16/17 12:00AM »
Long story short.. I bought a top box for my bike but the person I bought it from sold the bike and accidentally locked the box. It's verifiably not stolen or anything, as I see forum history of them owning the bike with it equipped.

Anyways, I do dabble in lock picking (no idea how to tension it being so wide), but this is a bit out of my skillset being a double-sided automotive key.

Tumbler breakdown is on this pdf. I have the kit to re-key it. http://powersports.honda.com/documentum/MW01/08L76-MGS-A51.pdf

So, is anyone a locksmith?   :2:

Not a locksmith, but there's a darn good one on Harbor just south of the 405. It's in the shopping center kiddy-corner from Target. They have helped me with motorcycle locks. Good luck!

Is the hinge accessible?  If so, I've seen where a hinge pin can be tapped out with an awl or small rod.  Much easier than picking a lock...

When I was rebuilding a wrecked moto I bought a gas tank with no key, this guy hand grinded hand made a key for it out of a blank and I had no issues...sure as hell took him awhile though!
