Doug, It was good to see you two weeks ago up at Newcombs Ranch. I meant to post something sooner. Sorry I wasn't able to talk to Rogue, sat down at the bar for lunch with my brother but after we were done you guys had left. Maybe we can join you on a a ride soon.

Kevs Rex, we'll make sure to send you a PM on the next ride.  We ride almost every weekend if the weather is good.

Or you can PM me your cell phone and I can text you.

Weather is looking good for most everywhere next Sunday :3: Don't know where we will end up but it should be nice. Ready most anytime but the 23rd and 24th if my dog sitter is available gonna do some turning of the Sierras then.

Next Sunday will feel like winter after this weekend! Might have to put on my jacket liner! LOL!

It was miserable humid today, and then I got rained on riding my bike!  Freakin' hate humidity.

I have been riding daily throughout the heat wave... definitely got worse the past couple days

Yesterday felt like a hair dryer being blown in your face

But to be honest, I feel like it could be worse. From what I've read, 106-110 is the limit of comfort..and I did see 100 in Foothill Ranch, but nothing like the 110+ in Riverside and Corona

I could even feel the temps drop from the Santiago Canyon area up to Long Beach

It was 109 all day in Fresno on Saturday, and I was dying. Even in the shade, it was pretty much plain miserable. I don't think I've drank that much in a long time.

110+ in dry heat is no fun. Moving or at a standstill, no escaping the hair-dryer effect. I found that covering up with a good airflow jacket and pants, along with keeping the visordown on the full-face provides the most relief in a crappy condition. Whats worse is high temps/high humidity environments. I rented bikes and motored around in places like Thailand and Vietnam during my off days. 100 degrees and 80% humidity type conditions seriously sucks.

What can really break a man's spirit is riding in really cold and wet conditions for a prolonged period of time. That truly sucks.

Post up something if you guys make a ride out of next Sunday. Maybe I can make it.

Oh yeah I'll post it up if we can make it happen.  I think a visit to Palomar/Julian(brunch)/Highland Valley is in order.  I don't think the LA foothills will be available at all due to the fires.

I have read a little bit of mixed fanfare on hot weather riding...some say that vented jackets/no jacket can be worse than a regular jacket. Theory says it dehydates/dries you out quicker and when the outside temp is higher than your core temp you want to preserve the lower temp and hydration the best you can...so for me it's ATGATT. What really sucks is an active dirt bike ride in open desert at 100+... it's literally a torture ride and the extreme dehydration causes really bad cramping

I still have a "it could be worse" attitude since living in Boston made it a 7 month riding season...at least here (coastal cities) I can ride year round and I cycle out the canyons/desert/forest depending on on the time of year
