Ride To GMR - Sunday 10/22
« on: 10/19/17 09:10AM »
We are planning to ride to GMR this Sunday, October 22nd.  The route will include parts of East Fork Road to Crystal Lake.  Early Lunch afterwards.  We want to be back to the OC before 1:30PM so we are getting started EARLY.

KSU is 7:30AM at the Donut Man here:   https://goo.gl/maps/vgdP5xZR5QF2
Load up on sugar and carbs then ride!

This means leaving south OC at 6:30 AM, to make it to the Donut Man by 7:00AM!  Yes it's early.  But Sunday is supposed to be a hot day with clear skies from sunrise to sundown!  Plus this leaves you with plenty of time afterwards to spend with your honey, family, or take an afternoon nap, and still have time to wash and polish your bike after the ride.  LOL!  We like to plan ahead.

Chime in if you want to join and meet up in South OC before riding to the Donut Man.  Or just meet us there at 7:30AM.  Wake up OCMOTO!  Let's ride!

East Fork to San Gabrial Canyon to the lake, Shoemaker is a road to nowhere filled with rocks and pot holes.
Glendora will be about 89 deg at noon so it will be warn but not blistering hot thanks to the early start. One strawberry donut for me:)

I can't make this one. But how does a Julian/Borrego Springs run sound sometime in the relative near future...especially when temps cool down a bit.

We’re pretty open to that area. That’s one of our regular go-to routes in the cooler months of the year.

I know it like the back of my hand!  :17:

Great ride as usual.  It was a very early start for sure.  However, the empty roads in the morning more than made up for it, plus it was a very clear, crisp October Sunday!  Unfortunately, GMR/GRR were closed probably to protect the area from fire hazard.  But we were able to ride Hwy 39 to Crystal Lake, as well as East Fork road.  The freeway ride home was fast and there was absolutely NO traffic.  I wish it were like that all year long!

Two magnificent black Honda's.  Rare colors for big red!

Yours truly.

We capped the day with an early lunch at Eureka! in Claremont.

Ooh! I love Little T, definitely on the to do list, although I'm probably going to be MIA for the next few rides as I have a couple of bikes I want to attend to, mostly my 01 and getting it inspected so I can re-register it, as well as prep it for a couple more track days in November. Plus the 09 has a few upgrades and maintenance items I need to get done, sooner rather than later.
