Do any small-business owners here have a recommendation for an accountant?

I used Ali Green with Green Zahn and associates. When she finally got around to doing my return, she knew what she was doing, but it was a lot of phone tag, no responses, and "oh sorry we'll call you back" or "sorry I was out of town), and honestly it took about 2 months to have my taxes prepared (and issued october 12/13th or so). Cost me around $1,600ish for a 2 property purchase w' rentals tax return. Kinda feels like all of CA has this level of service...

     I actually asked that exact same question (of looking for an accountant/tax person/CPA) about 2 years ago on this forum.

I was referred to "Ed Contract, with Taxes by Contract"  and had an absolute fantastic experience. He is local here in Anaheim Hills, as well as a second office in Monument, CO. I have used him 3 separate times, involving 2 separate years of "Taxes owed" (Small business, 1099K sent to IRS by Paypal), as well as filing my normal taxes from 2016. I was absolutely floored with my return for 2016, as well as the amount we got my "taxes owed" lowered to.

Ed and his son know everything there is about taxes, and provide an excellent service. It's a small, family operated business, so you won't be paying for large corporate overhead costs!

I'd highly suggest giving him a call, or an email. To this day, I'm sure glad I did! He's my "Go-To" guy for anything tax/accounting related!
