Welcome to OC MOTO!

Please use this board to make a new topic and say hello to all your fellow riders and tell us a little about yourself. How did you find the site? What bike(s) do you have? Where are you from? What's your favorite color?

New User Orientation ( Please Read Before Making Your First Post )

OC MOTO is a motorcycle community created for riders of Orange County and the greater SoCal area. Founded in April 2007, the site remains free to use with no dues or initiation of any kind. We hope this site will be your portal to the local sport bike community. We have to thank our members for making this site such a great place to hang out and meet new people! New members don't be shy!

Come join us at one of our many events. We provide a place to organize group rides, track days, special events and host a wealth of information on our site related to riding skills and working on your bike. Our goal is to create a positive environment where riders can improve their riding skills and have fun at the same time.

Group Rides

Should I come on a ride?
We love meeting new people on our rides! With that said, yes you should come on a ride. But first please note the following:
Know your experience level. If you've only been riding for a few months, it's not going to be a good idea to go on a ride to the canyons or mountains.
Please don't come out to show off, we all have fast bikes, we can go fast, but please don't be stupid about it.
Don't be shy! Make some new friends, we won't bite ;)

How we ride:
Everyone is expected to ride at their own pace. Never try to keep up with another rider if he/she is faster than you, it can only cause an incident which no one will appreciate. But don't worry, you're not going to get left behind because we will always wait at the nearest junction for riders!

What to wear:
Please don't be a squid. If the ride is in the canyons, please wear leathers. If the ride is on city streets please at least wear helmet/gloves (we'll try not to tease you too much).

Obey the Law!
Try to refrain from speeding or drawing attention to yourself or the group, always stay behind the group leader, and of course... no wheelies!

Information For New Riders:

If you have just started riding that nice sport bike of yours? Here's some tips on what to do...
Invest in your gear, unfortunately, you'll probably need it. They're not kidding when they say riding a bike is dangerous.
Get your M1 License. You'll need to obtain a motorcycle permit by taking a written exam at the DMV, then you take the MSF Course which will get you the M1 license upon completion (you can avoid the MSF course by taking a riding test at the DMV, but MSF is preferred and well worth it).
Take a Skillz Days class. This will really fine tune those moto skills of yours!
Join us on some group rides! Half the fun of having a motorcycle is the great motorcycle community we have.
Join us at the track if you want to go to the next step and really push your bike, and yourself, to the max. Check out the OC MOTO Racing track club for more info.

Our Mission Statement:

Establish OC MOTO as the leading public forum for avid motorcycle riders in the Orange County and Southern California area while maintaining our uncompromising principles on safe riding.

Guiding Principles:
Provide a friendly motorcycle forum community in which we treat each other with respect and dignity.
Embrace safety as an essential component to riding, whether it is improving riding skills or the importance of wearing protective gear.
Promote the highest standards of safe and responsible riding while on public roads.
Contribute positively to our communities and our sport by sharing knowledge and personal experience, so that others may learn and improve their own skills.
