I was commuting for 4yrs morning and back to work...lane splitting and  street roads.... well finally year ago...mine came up same as yours....morning frwy lane split and car jumps lane from number 2 to 1 lane... no signal or back check...just hop over... had to mauever quick reaction and ended up barely hitting rear truck enough to headshake but still on road against the middle divider....scraping still on saddle and sparking from handlebar contact.....finally slowed enough down to stop....but I never went down....just scraping handlebar against the frwy divider...was super lucky I stayed up...
thank god I didn;t panic brake stop or would have ended up smashing good....luckily traffic was not going fast and neither was I speeding the lane split....but still had rashes to my pinky fingers after the gloves wore down to  do some rash on my pinky fingers....thank god for the gloves hard armor knucle protectors...it was a Cortech Adrenalin gloves....

luckily the concrette divider stopped me from landing on the north bound side which would have run me over like a pancake.......

I have since given up commuting in morning for work or after.....still ride and split occasionally but more for all day bike trips or outings..... but commuting/splitting in mornings is just too much for me now... and texters, smartphone people busy have given more more ammo to stop riding less.....

I can handle crash or accidents if I was at fault but when distracted drivers are popping up, texting drivers and traffic  comvos make up for some hard life lesson.....   my wife is glad I am not commuting by bike anymore...

cut the connectors off and just striaght wire solder it....more connections...more problems points..????

to me... that's murder...the truck driver should get the death  sentence.

eye for eye justice is the only way....

He used to work at toyota dealership but is now working independently on the side...but you should contact indianboy7 as its his buddy.... But he did fix it in the garage of his house.... he had all the basic mechanics tool stuff that you see them at dealership  bays... he's a good troubleshooter...

I usually do all my stuff...DIY guy...but the hard ones I leave it to guys who can troubleshoot or have special tools to get it done... I hardly ever take anything to dealers as prior bad experiences..

here is some pics...

I want to thank everybody who helped and gave ideas....but finally I was able to get it fixed...thanks to OCMOTO member.

Update....SUCESS.... thanks to Indianboy7 lead to his buddy Pierre who happens to be a Toyota Master tech...
long story short....the thermostat was faulty or marginal.... Replaced and its back to cold air... 43 degree cold.... nice and cold...no need for ECM or other dealer stuff...

anyway... Indianboy7 referred me to his buddy Pierre.... By the time I got the van down there...the blower was not working at any speed, but rear blower was working....no green AC  green light.... don't know how...but it must have got worse...Pierre fixed that by diagnosing to a bad Blower resistor...back to original problem... AC on and off....so started off fresh start...hooked up his AC system machine, evap and refill with proper refrigrent to factory spec... He said system was overfilled...probably with me adding that DIY AC kit...

then tested system and it was acting just like original...AC on/off... so we  took off on a road test...it was then that Pierre saw the temp gauge go up as ac cuts off and then temp gauge down to as AC kicks in...  when we got back ... He checked the operation of thermostat and sure enough....the radiator upper hose was hot to touch but the lower hose was not hot at all.....Thus the conclusion faulty thermostat diagnosis. No full flow of coolant throughout the cars cooling system..

What was weird was...the temp needle really never moved to red hot zone...was more like 60-70% range...and no overheating indication.... So I guess the temp gauge was sending signal to ECM to shut down AC system as it indicated hot engine condition....so he figured it was a marginal or faulty thermostat operation..
But it was getting late and I told him that I could finish R/R the thermostat and do it home...

so next day morning, pierre called to ask if ok...I said I didn't start yet...Later on that day.. I put in new parts from toyota dealer...I put in a new thermostat, new thermostat housing--(stupid toyota Plastic housing)....gasket and drain/refill coolant, purge as best possible.. Stupid toyota burred the thermostat stuff way down...I had to remove a lot of stuff to get to it...  It took me  a while to do this in my drive way....

I then went on 20 mins of stop/go traffic.... AC cold all the time...the temp needle never move from middle position...
next day...went on 80 mile trip....super cold all the time...no problems... and past week...super cold working...hot or cold outside, any speed, idle postion...No problems... AC working...

Pierre is a good troubleshooter and knows his stuff... He charged a reasonable price and stayed with the car until problem was fixed or working correctly.... I intend to take my car next time to him for timing belt job...

thanks to Indianboy7 and Pierre..

I had the exact problem , I added freon and it was solved .
Someone is going to get a red butt in the wallet over this .

let me know if you can fix it for me.... do you have all the proper gauges and refrigent.... and can troubleshoot for me....let me know.. I can be over in quick... we can talk over about the $$$...

AC shop did say that the ground signal was missing when ac compressor clutch disengages.... He thinks the ECM is taking the ground signal away and then somehow resupply it later.... I don;t know...sounds very weird....

called the toyota dealer..and told them what AC shop told me...Then toyota guy  say $130 to diagnose it...then go from there... I asked if they had special computer or AC top tech to troubleshoot...instead of part changer guys changing parts till fixed to pad up the bill.... He saids oh...they are all AC ceritifed and trained...  and that it looks like electrical problem to trace it...

I still think its something where something gets hot and stops the signal, thus shutting off ac compressor clutch....then when its cooled down, then resupply  the signal to turn on the compressor....

Oh... I did tap the High pressure switch location....but nothing...

I just hate taking anything to dealers and get raped...I hear bad stories and reviews of dealers padding bills by changing parts needlessly till fixed...when it could just be a simple fix....I haven't heard of any good dealers around here...

well... I just got word from air conditioning shop... they can't fix it or don;t know... they replicated the problem and said everything checks out...relay, clutch, compressor, switches and compressor is all working good... but somehow the ECM is  somehow shutting the ac compressor off.... they don't have access to ECM stuff...

said I have to take to toyota shop and have them hook up to their computer or special equipment...  I asked if it might be the ac amplifier or control unit there....they don't know without access to the car's ECM stuff....
but they didn't charge me anything...shop has been there long time and well respected....

I wonder if shop didn't want to work on it or maybe its car ecm stuff...??? but I know dealer ain't going to be cheap...
Hopefully dealer ain't going to rape me...

thanks guys....keep it coming..

overcharged??   not possible.... original problem was same as before and after I refilled with DIY ac can/gauge stuff...its the A/CPro DIY units...   the needle never gets in the  perfect green range area...always below...
High Pressure switch.... I will try that...
AC green light has never blinked...its always solid when on...

I do hear a sound like bad bearing when compressor clucth is engaged....but its not bad noise of bearing....
will a marginal bad clutch bearing shutoff the ac compressor clutch...???

even if I replace the compressor/clutch whole unit.... no guarantee it will work if there is a some safety device, loose wire, maybe computer signal???

But one symptom is consistent... when car is off for long time...parked or overnight....and start in morning...AC always comes on nice and cold but will last only less then 5 mins....but then hot air...and look down...clutch is not engaged...

took it to shop..he wants $58 to diagnoise and if repairs are done...then it applies to repair job...but with this heat, thinking shops usually charge more...Shop told me that by adding any kind of refrigrant cans from stores is all pure crap and could have done more damage then good...

Basically....what conditions does a  AC system look for to turn on the compressor clutch to engage and make cold air...

could a bad compressor clutch bearing make it disengage the clutch as a safety precaution...

Off Topic / Any auto AC tech out here... HELP INFO???

Hey guys... My 2005 toyota sienna LE ..AC unit took a crap..... well problem is it turns  on and off....randomly....meaning... car running.. ac on and  cold air comes on for like 2-3 mins....then its hot air for next 15-20 mins....and repeats cycle.... AC on green indicator is solid...
checked it out... looks like compressor clucth  engages when cold and off when hot air..
when it does come on.... AC is cold air....

so far.. I swapped  AC compressor clutch relay with horn relay......no help...
bought new ac compressor cluthc relay....................................no help.
bought ac pro/ refill kit with gauge... hooked it up to low  port and refill it with when clutch on.... needle is on way down on low range of green......... and tested it out on road.........same result... no help..

so at this point I need help to find out what actually makes the compressor clutch come on...beside relay.... is there another sensor or something that turns it on and off as a safety feature of maybe low  refrigrant.
could a bad clutch compressor bearing effect these symptoms...

Questions..

is it a big leak...refrigrant.
some safety device...
bad compressor cluthc bearing or coil
or bad compressor...
or maybe bad AC amplifier.....

I like if somebody knows this stuff before I drop down $700+ for full compressor job.
I was also thinking about putting in new compressor clutch unit with new coil....and just leave compressor on...and no need to refill or evap refrigrant....????

any help would be great....

I highly doubt monitoring devices will be placed on our vehicles as we are one of the few states where it is written into our state's constitution that guarantees us a right to privacy: http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/.const/.article_1  Monitoring does not equal privacy...

What bothers me about SB350 is the very socialist-like language in the law: "The Charge Ahead California Initiative states goals of, among other things, placing in service at least 1,000,000 zero-emission and near-zero-emission vehicles by January 1, 2023, and increasing access for disadvantaged, low-income, and moderate-income communities and consumers to zero-emission and near-zero-emission vehicles."  And you thought a drive-by in a Prius was Hollywood stuff (as portrayed in HBO's Weeds)...

With that said, I really doubt SB350 has any chance of passing, and if it comes close, you should probably check who voted for or against, and vote accordingly if s/he is on the ballot in the upcoming elections.

Then how come under current new legislation....Kids are being forced to have vaccinations done even if the family doesn't believe in it... Its been okay for last decade or so with personal belief system and now scare mongers are hearding general population for the profiteering the big pharma..
Why is society concerned that they are going to catch something if they have already been vaccinated....only people going to get sick are the unvaccinated ones right....and its by their choice....

tougher?? that he needed a bat to fight.....everyone feels brave when they have a weapon...until its hand to hand combat...that's not badass  when you need weapons to fight..

its same thing with roadrage....people feel so brave and do very aggressive moves when behind the wheel...get them face to face  in a dark alley, no weapons and all of sudden they don;t feel so brave or aggressive......
