1-20-18 Kim and I meet at a 76 in Brea...

Wow is it cold, we passed Cook's Corner and rode to "Tommy's" in Irvine for lunch!

Kim smelled oil as we were riding and noticed his bike is leaking - again?!

We rode back to Cook's and stopped for a bit.

Ran into a few friends that ride Ortega Hwy!

Kim had a beer and bought a couple of patches.

I think the full desmo service is every 15k mile now, a great improvement.  I'm thinking a full servicing at 15k will run around $1500, or one-third of that if you do it yourself, and depending on how many tools you have.
Everyone who has a Hypermotard seems to really love them.  If you ride it, and are happy with it, you'll enjoy the bike and club experience.  No bike is really properly setup out of the gate, so it pays to take it to a chassis tuner to get a good baseline.  I saw Dave Moss today at Pro-Italia and it was a great experience.

Here's another article with a different take from the folks at Revzilla...

What I plan to do in 2018 for the good of motorcycling

I wish we were on the cusp of a thriving era for the industry and for ridership, yet all the data indicate we are not in the midst of a Golden Age of motorcycling in the United States.

Whatís a rider to do? Itís not likely an individual can favorably sway the employment environment of an entire country. I can't easily alter income inequality, snowy weather, or the price of gasoline. However, Iím confident there are things an individual person can do to promote a healthy, growing motorcycle climate in the United States. Here are some things I plan to do in 2018.
