I have a Shoei X12 also.

I've owned a Shoei RF1100 prior to this helmet.  I also have a OGK Kabuto Aeroblade III helmet.

I've read some of the reviews of the X12 and it was mixed.  However, let me tell you all something about the X12:  this helmet is Shoei's flagship and it shows!  The fit and finish is top notch.  The vents open and close like a vault.  The shield closes shut as if it was a jet plane door!  The whole helmet feels like a it's milled from a single piece of high strength aluminum!  Helmet reviewers were expecting a helmet that flowed air like the Niagra Falls flows water and some of them were disappointed.  That's because the X12 is a racing helmet and the ventilation functions best on a sportbike.  If the riding position of your bike is upright you won't get the full benefit of the X12's awesome venting.  However, if you ride a sportbike then the angle of your head will put this helmet in the optimum position to flow A LOT of air.  Air flow is significant from the chin vent, the forehead, AND the top of your scalp.  It's the type of venting you can feel!

The X12 is also Snell 2010 compliant so it's very stiff and fits very snug.  The result is one of the quietest helmets ever!  The difference is dramatic.  Finally, it's VERY light and aerodynamic.  Go ahead and turn your head sideways at 85+ mph.  The wind won't tear your head off because the X12's shape is designed to maintain air flow integrity at high speeds even at 90 degree angles (racers have to turn their heads too).

It's a $600-$700 helmet new.

Thanks a ton for posting that, I really appreciate it! I hate seeing this helmet going for this cheap too, I paid a little over $700 for it about a year ago. I for sure won't go any lower. If somebody wants to pay less than that, I would just rather keep this for wall art. haha

Bump $300.

Bump, new price. $350

Bump, open to offers on the helmet!

Boots are sold.

Well, the bike sold, and now the gear is up next. First is a Shoei X-12 Vermeulen 5 replica, in excellent condition. No scratches, dings, etc. Took very good care of this helmet. Comes with a clear and tinted visor. But wait, there's more! If you act now, I will include a FREE GoPro mount. Size is XL. $300

I'm still waiting on my tax return, if you end up selling it. Let me know! God bless you.

Well, I had a guy on the line for it, but he backed out last minute, so its still available. :)

Back in the old days we would shave, Put on a clean shirt then  ride our Stingray down and inquire in person..... But that was a long time ago! :26:

Due to the job I'm in I get asked career advice all the time, and more than half the time I get a blank stare and a vague, "um, thanks" when I give advice, because everything I say involves work and time, where they're expecting me to clap my hands and make the magic job genie appear.

Wait a minute. Hold on a second. You mean to tell me that in order to get a job, you actually have to get off your ass and put in a little effort? No thank you.

Seriously though, it is really sad what kids have come to these days. I still believe in the "old fashioned" way of dressing for the job you want, giving a nice firm handshake, making eye contact, and being assertive in your answers. A good, solid personality goes a really long way.

Its also sad that I had to call that way "old fashioned".

Small update, I ended up buying a brand new battery so that way the new owner won't have to deal with it. Ill be installing it tonight. Ill include the old battery so if you want to send it back to Ballistic to have them service it or replace it, then you will have a backup battery.

Snap. GLWS!

Do you already have plans for what your next project will be?

I do. I just picked up a 2014 Mustang GT. If the bike is any indication of how far I take my projects, you can expect some craziness. haha

One....maybe two turbos perhaps?

A few things have crossed my mind, and I have tossed around the idea of going turbo, centrifugal blower, or a pd blower, but I just can't decide. With the new 5.0 motor, you can pretty easily squeeze out around 450whp with a Cobra Jet intake manifold, Super Cobra Jet throttle body, exhuast and a tune. I think for the time being, I may give that a shot. An N/A street car that can run into the 11's with D/R's and still keep the daily drivability seems pretty enticing to me. haha

Maybe future buyer/s wonder if any oem stuff will come with the sale? And milage on the bike? Nice project though Rad

I do have a couple small OEM parts, but mostly everything was sold when it was pulled off the bike so I didn't start accumulation a giant pile of parts in my garage. haha. Thanks for the kind words!
