Griot's Garage Spray On Car Wash when it's dirty, and Speed Shine if it's just a little dusty.I second Griots Garage, been using their products since the mid 90's. Speed Shine is my go to
They are in WA, so I got hooked when I was in the BMW Club and they had events at the store... I even won a whole cleaning set as a raffle prize at the E30 Picnic one year, so I have one of the older model Griot's random orbital buffers.
If I die on two wheels at least my family will have solace in the fact it was my chosen past-time and I died doing what I loved. Not every rider carries this mentality, though. I told my wife and family to never blame motorcycles or to shun them if I am severely hurt or die riding. It's is an accepted risk that I take.
While the $1,500 is not outrageous, the real question: Is your lawyer a family law lawyer or does she have actual experience defending DUI cases? If she has no experience, then I would retain different counsel.
Ducman,Picked up the duc yesterday from SBK Corse. Neil showed me the defective parts that was not letting the starter stay engaged. He also noticed the new starter that had been installed. As my problem had been missdiagnosed. Also the piston rings were fine, the engine had plenty of compression. So must thank you again as James & Neil will see me again for any service needed.
As someone else suggested I would recommend SBK Corse in Laguna Hills. I had the same problem with my 1098S bought it new in '07. Last year with less than 7k miles it started blowing blue smoke on deceleration and there was oil in the airbox. A symptom of blown rings, oil was getting past them. If you don't have these symptoms I'd get a second opinion.
Anyway, after much research I chose SBK Corse to do the work because of Neil Freeman, he is the head tech. I found out from talking to him that he worked for Ducati Corse (the racing team within Ducati) in Bologna, Italy. He had me at hello as they say. I can go on and on but you really owe it to yourself to talk to him.
In any case my options were to replace the rings and put the bike back to stock; or do some mods since the engine was going to be torn apart anyway. I chose the latter and I could not be happier. Neil did a phenomenal job and I'm enjoying my 1098S a heck of a lot more than when it was brand new.
Let me know if you need more info. Always happy to help out a fellow Duc owner.
