does anyone here have any interest in helping me shoot a dirt vs. street video around big bear?

basically the opening 30 seconds show a truck pulling into the silverwood dam parking lot with a dirt bike in the bed, and a sport bike rider pulls over on a turn out, looking up at the rim of the world road.  There is already a sporty car with a girl at that turnout driver taking selfies...they call one another and challenge the other party to a race to the Cedar Glen Malt shop....dirt bike guy takes the trails, sport bike guy takes the canyon...2 mins of switching between gopro footage of each rider in their respective area, and they both pull up to the shop at the same time only to find the sports car already there, and a long legs hot chick steps they all win  :29:
Hmm, depends on when you want to do this. My bike is already setup for recording but I do have a few things I want get done next weekend (10/27-28) but Iíd be up for it.

Tj got invited to hang at the DEUS crews compound in Bali for two weeks riding vintage and modern bikes on Enduro moto and supercross tracks, He awoke this morning to a 6.4 earthquake.... Livin the dream!
Apart from the earthquake, thatís fricken sweet! Hope all is well after the shaker.

MSF Lost the contract to Lee Parks. Itís now the CMSP.

I wasn't anticipating it but looks like I'll have to be jumping on a plane Sunday afternoon, so I'm out. I'll keep my eyes and ears open for the next one. Have a good ride!

My replica Bell MOTO 3 came in today, STOKED!
Had the same helmet (color too) many, many moons ago! Great helmet at the time, did they update it a little?

Doug, just wanted to thank you again for this ride. It got me reinvigorated to get back on the saddle. I've since slapped on new tires and have hit Palomar at least 4 times since.  :27:
Where's the 'Like' button!

This was the first street ride I have done on quite a while, can't recall the last time I was at GMR or Palomar. Hopefully, I'll be able to get back on a weekend ride schedule soon. It's looking like October before I can get a "me" weekend. Friends and Family obligations at the moment, at least until the end of September.

Anyone planning on attending the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach in November? (Nov 16-18)  Looks like tickets go on sale today. $5 off promo code EBD19 (exp 9/9/18)

I went the past few years but it seems to be getting less attractive to me. Although I have been able to get some good show specials in the past, which is really the only enticement to go I have at the moment. I don't really need or want anything right now, I'll probably go anyway, if anything just to kill time and be around motorcycles and fellow riders.

Took it the whole way yesterday; still had to split though?! That place is so busy! Saved 40min on the commute in and 23min on the way back; gotta love bikes 😁
Oh Yeah, any time I have to leave OC, I'm on the bike. Even if it's pouring rain. Although the latter is a bit more concerning and is not my favorite time to ride, the fact that traffic is even slower and more congested when it rains makes the bike the better way to go. I am just that much more diligent when it's wet.

Hmm, I thought I posted in this thread but couldn't find it, so here it is...

OOTV = Out Of The Void

When I left my job to start my own business and do my own thing, a song by one of my favorite bands (Primal Scream) came to mind, 'Out of the Void'. I called my business 'Out of the Void Software', I basically took the 'S' off and used the OOTV for my screen name.

A lyric from the song, "I've got the fear I can't get out of the void into the light", well after 14 years as a business owner and a change the name of the company, to honor a good friend and mentor, I can say that I'm definitely out of the Void!

Repeat this ride on Sunday?
I can't make it, taking the wife out of town on Sunday.

This quote s from a Henry Miller book (I forget which one) always comes to mind when encountering people like the hotel clerk.

ďIt is the people with secret attachments to various temptations who busy themselves with removing these temptations from other people: Really they are defending themselves under the pretext of defending others, because at heart they fear their own weakness.Ē

For some reason I always forget to take my phone out and take pictures! It felt weird riding on public roads for fun again but with this group it at least felt comfortable!

Good to see the Tanners, Capt Bob and Lyle again too. Hopefully I can get my personal schedule a little more in line with riding one day a weekend like I use to. Family obligations, both for happy and sad reasons have me a little tied up but I think after September things should come back to ďnormalĒ.

Did a little hunting at the Mexico/San Diego border today.

Perfect! I told the wife that I wanted to do a non track day ride next weekend. Count me in!

Ill be sad to lose a riding buddy but glad to see you go to a better environment. Hopefully I can cut out some time again this year and go riding up there with you. Definitely some wonderful roads and great scenery. Congratulations!

Iíll be there again!

Being that I change and balance my own tires, I prefer not to have to deal with beads, particularly when changing the tire. Although it can sometimes take a little more time to get some tires balanced with traditional wheel weights, I have found that once I did get then balanced, I never have to worry about them. I have been doing a lot of track time lately and have to say that 100+ MPH is the norm on most straights and I have never had an issue (knock on wood). The best part of the latter is, no CHP performance awards have ever been handed to me.

A guy backed into my VFR and knocked it over, with the fairing, windscreen, mirror, front sub-frame, top case and foot pegs needing to be replaced, he got a ~$2,800.00 bill (his company insurance paid for it), so let your co-worker know he got let off easy! Still, with the ticket, a little insult to injury never feels good.
