Off Topic / Scam or Scam
« on: 04/03/17 11:40AM »
Yeah, I'm saying it's a scam. Here's a reply I got to a post I made recently in the classified section.

Hello,

How are you doing over there Ö. I really appreciate your response to my email. I want you to consider it sold, pls do withdraw the advert from site to avoid disturbance,I donít have time to come over to take a look because of my Business but you donít need to bother yourself with the shipment, Iíll take care of that by engaging the services of a mover, hence Iíll be sending a certified cashier check and it will be delivered to you via usps, so Iíll need you to provide me with the following information to facilitate the mailing of the check.
1.Full name on the check.
2.Full Physical address to post the check
3.City, State and Zip Code
4.Home & Cell Phone to contact you.
Note: That the payment will be shipped to your address via USPS SERVICE and I will like you to know that you will not be responsible for shipping i will have my mover to come over as soon as you have cashed the check.

Be careful out there.

I've got a 1996 BMW R1100RT for sale. I'm looking for closer to $3000 but I'm open to offers. It's got nearly new tires and I commuted on it for several years. The downside is the ABS doesn't work and it's got about 85,000 miles.

Misc / MoonEyes Christmas Party
« on: 12/09/16 03:04PM »
The Mooneyes Christmas Party will be tomorrow 12/10 at Irwindale Speedway. Bike parking is no problem since they have a special area near the entrance but if you come in a car, you better get there around 6AM since that parking fills up early.

Assuming money is no object and there'd be room in the garage, I think 3 bikes would work for me.
1.  KTM Super Duke for Sundays and track days
2.  Yamaha FJR1300 for touring with my wife
3.  Honda Africa Twin for light off-roading
This is about perfect, I've already got an FJR, I'd probably get arrested or maybe killed on the Super Duke, but I've ridden them and they're awesome. I think for on/off road I'd want something a little lighter than an Africa Twin like maybe an XL600.

At some point this is supposed to happen all over Orange and LA Counties. The theory is that it will reduce the jam ups at the carpool lane entry points and and keep the traffic moving faster. One thing is for sure, it will make splitting more dangerous for us since the cars will be cutting in and out whenever [not that some people don't already].

Don't hey have dumpsters in Anaheim?

Try shopping companies that specialize in motorcycle insurance. I went with Foremost. Their quote was about half what the Auto Club wanted.
At this point, your driving record doesn't matter--it is what it is. Every company will take it into consideration.

i dont need a CPA, but I do need some viagra.

: (

I'm not a CPA either. I'm FBI -- female body inspector.

I rode past there about a week ago. Next time I'll have to stop and check it out.  :29:

HT Moto did the seat on my BMW. They do great work at reasonable prices. The seat they did is more comfortable than the $600 custom seat the bike came with.  :29: :29:

Does anyone have any experience with Jason and No Limits? I'm looking for someplace close to Seal Beach to get tires mounted.

Hey Eddie! You forgot to tell us the address for GZ Cafť.   :32: :32:

I can do the sushi but the fried and mex would kill me already.

Hate sushi. If I had to choose only one type of food I could eat for the rest of my life it would be Mexican!
I'll second that. I love Mexican food, too bad my stomach doesn't.

I've had a couple of radar detectors over the years in cars, but never had one on a bike. IMO it's kind of a science using one and I don't know if they actually saved me any tickets or if I was just lucky. I do know one thing, having one slowed me down because I figured if I got rolled up and the cop noticed it [and he almost certainly would] there was no chance of  getting out of the ticket.

I ran into Jessica Friday night at the Twisted Throttle display. She will be there all weekend and would love to see her California friends.

I can sum that up in three words -- no fookin way.

I find it odd that Piaggio would have another dealer in OC.  Makes me wonder about the status of Newport Italian.
I've always wondered about Newport Italian. They seem to be more of a boutique than a bike shop.

I got to ride two bikes that I've wanted to ride for a long time, the Duke, which was OK but I wouldn't want to spend a lot of freeway time on it and also the Super Duke. I'll give that bike  :7: :7: . It was a blast to ride through the canyon and had a ton of power on the straighter streets. Not cheap, but definitely a winner.
Also, I've never been to Oakley before, I didn't even know it was there. If you've never seen that place, it's worth checking out. The closest I can come to describing it is it looks like something out of a SciFi movie.
